Karen uses creative processes to inform her understanding of the underlying structure or functions in an object or environment. The work often involves exploring construction on an atomic level, making visible that which is missing to the naked eye.
Creating installations relating to their locality enables exploration of new and atypical materials and working methods. Through this process insight is gained to some of the fundamental building blocks of life.
