Julia Barton
Julia Barton seeks out unusual sites to work with, be they natural or man-made, taking inspiration for her work from the nature of the place and the ecological processes at work within it.
In her recent work Resurrection, located in a decommissioned jail in the USA, she focused on plants which had colonised the derelict site. The floor spaces of the 'cells' were planted up, each plant relating back to the inmates that were once contained within the jail.
