Microbiology
Microbes are the smallest things living on the planet, most are impossible to see without using a microscope.
A lot of them live in ponds and other wet places. Some move around swimming with the aid of tails, others grow in one place attached to stones and leaves in the water.
Many have fantastic shapes and live strange lives: some feed on sun-light like flowers and trees, but they also have little 'eye-spots' which help them swim towards the light.
If you would like to see some and learn more about them, a good website to look at is: http://www.microbeworld.org/microbes
